New underwater archaeologysts
In the period from 14.09.2009 till 17.09.2009 an Advanced Scuba Diver course was held with Anton Donev and Nayden Prahov. Both participants have degrees in archaeology from Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski”. At the moment Anton is working as an archaeologist in the underwater archaeology center in Sozopol and Nayden is doing a doctors degree in SU. The course was held near Kiten in normal diving conditions.

NAUI's 50th anniversary

2010 is a memorable year for NAUI. Your association is celebrating its 50th anniversary.In 1960 carefully selected volunteers were trained and have become the first NAUI instructors. Thus was laid the foundations of what today is a symbol of quality, safety and dedication. Today, more than 51000 NAUI Instructors are working, sharing and developing methods of training, so your association can be the most respected, non- profit, worldwide training agency.
On the eve of its 50th anniversary, NAUI want to celebrate in a special way. We are expecting your ideas. This summer we will celebrate, all of us together!
BAS joins NAUI
A Scuba diving course was held with a science team from the Institute of Zoology, Bulgarian Academy of Science, in the period of 14.03– 28.04.2009. The scientist whit the director of study- st. n. s. Milen Vasilev and his team-n. s. Apostolos Apostolu, n. s. Dobrin Dobrev ant the biology specialists Tihomir Stefanov and Boris Velkov will work in the Black Sea over the project “The Black Sea Gobies’- a biological resource with depreciated exploitation and preservation significance”. The project is sponsored by the Scientific Research Fund toward the Ministry of Education and Science.
The course took place in the swimming-pool of ”Dianabat”, Sofia. The exercises and the final evaluation were made in Nea Peramos, Greece. The SDC passed with an excellent organization and after the acquired knowledge and experience the student successfully passed the final exam.

Presentation about NAUI
On the 01.12.2008 a presentation about NAUI courses and prodrams was held in front of the students of the 18th elite highschool in Sofia. They were introduced to the First Aid and Diving Courses. The young students were very intersted in the underwater activities and our hopes are that we have managed to show them a different world and safer methods of training. We expect them to follow our steps...
ITC Course
From the 22.11.2008 to 30.11.2008 an ITC course was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. Part of the course took place near Neos Marmaras in Greece.
Course director was Rumen Zhelezarov NAUI #36909 and participants were Anita Dotzeva, Latchezar Terziev and Ivan Zhelezarov. The new NAUI instructors showed excellent skills and high passing scores on both exams and teaching evaluations.
